Class "A" Volunteer Screening

Please contact me by phone at 203.230.1201 ext. 224 or by e-mail at kathrynf@soct.org with any questions regarding the status of a Class "A" Volunteer Application. A delegation report, of Class "A" Volunteers who have been processed, screened, and cleared, is distributed quarterly to each Local Coordinator. Please let me know if you need additional copies. Reports will be available at each of the event coaches meetings throughout the year. Thank you.

Protective Behaviors

Volunteers in the United States who have close contact with Special Olympics athletes are now required to participate in Protective Behaviors Training as part of the Class A Volunteer Screening process. This training teaches volunteers about physical, sexual and emotional abuse so that all volunteers are active in achieving our ultimate goal of protecting Special Olympics athletes from harm or abuse. All Class "A" Volunteers must go through the Protective Behaviors Program every 3 years. This program is located on the SOI website at www.specialolympics.org/protectivebehaviors.
