About SOCT
Special Olympics Connecticut provides year-round sports training and competitions for nearly 14,000 athletes and Unified Sports® partners. We also promote a healthy lifestyle by offering free health screenings at events, and providing participants with the education and resources to improve their sports performance and enhance their overall health and fitness.
There are opportunities for everyone to be part of SOCT and enjoy a meaningful and rewarding experience - as an athlete, Unified Sports® partner, coach, volunteer, supporter, or fan.

2026 Summer Games
April is National Volunteer Month, and supporting our Summer Games is the perfect way to get involved. Hosted the first week of June at various locations, we need help with set-up, execution, and tear down. Volunteering is a great way to give back, and we promise, you'll always get more than you give.

Featured Special Event

Law Enforcement Torch Run®
LETR is the largest public awareness vehicle and grassroots fundraiser for Special Olympics. We partner with law enforcement departments and agencies around the state to host year-round fundraisers including Penguin Plunge, Tip-A-Cop® & Coin Drop events, among others. Annually in June, a three-day Torch Run leads up to Summer Games.

Healthy Athletes® Program
We’re proud to provide free health screenings and educational materials for athletes about fitness, nutrition, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Unified Sports® in Schools
As part of an effort to reach school-aged athletes, SOCT partners with the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) to bring Special Olympics Unified Sports® to elementary, middle, and high schools across the state.
